Water Project Progresses
::Turkana, Africa

Our desire is to change this African Desert into a well-watered garden, one oasis at a time. We plan to do this through a combination of borehole-drilling, irrigation and intensive gardening.

After successfully drilling our first well in west central Kenya, we decided to go north to the remote desert area of the Turkana District.

We went to the village of Naroos, located between the town of Lodwar and the brackish waters of Lake Turkana.

For years, the local people there have depended on stagnant water of the Turkwell River. Many have died from diseases due to the unclean water.

However, after the chief of the village granted us 10 acres of land, we began our Turkana Water Project.

Since that time we presently have successfully drilled two wells in this remote desert area.

These new wells have now been a constant source of clean, fresh water for hundreds of people. It now gives hope for self-sufficiency and a future.

:: Irrigation System Planned

Plans are now to equip these wells with solar pumps and begin to put in place an irrigation system, which will allow them to grow their crops even during the dry seasons.
